The Woods are on the road again travelling to face the Hahndorf Magpies in Round 16 of the Police Credit Union Hills Football League.

In a crunch match, the Woods will be looking to repeat the result of the previous encounter between the sides back in Round 7 where a goal in the dying seconds from star forward Jack Lewis saw the Woods snatch a two-point victory having trailed for much of the match.

Trailing by a much as 17 points in the final quarter, Blackwood found a way to record a victory with Lewis and Joel Aish combing for six goals while ruck Jan Warbout was named best player for his dominance in the middle of the ground.

The Woods will be looking to break a run of eight consecutive losses to the Magpies at Hahndorf Oval with the last victory coming back in Round 10 of 2013 when a then David Benson coached side returned an 18-point victory. In the eight matches following that the Woods have suffered defeats by an average of 54 points to the Magpies at the venue.

Blackwood will be aiming to turn around the recent record against Hahndorf in the C Grade competition where from the last eight matches the Woods have only won on two occasions (Round 9 2017 & Grand Final 2017)
