Where has the season gone? This weekend sees the Blackwood Football Club travel to face the Uraidla Districts Demons in the last minor round of the 2022 Police Credit Union Hills Football League.

The Woods will be looking to secure a finals berth with a victory against the fourth placed Demons (who they will play again the following week if that occurs).

In the previous encounter between the sides in Round 9 in the wild rain at KX Pilates Blackwood Oval, both sides kicked two goals in the opening quarter as the Woods trailed by the solitary point at the first break. As the game wore on, the Demons began to gain the advantage kicking away to eventually win 17 points when the final siren

On the day, Joel Aish, Troy Hocking, Nathan Laity, Jack Lewis and Sam Matters booted a goal each while Mark Reynolds was named best player for his efforts providing run and dash on the weekend.

Under 15 Boys

On Sunday our Under 15 Boys team travels to Angle Vale Oval to face the Owls in the Qualifying Final. Finishing third on the ladder at the completion of the minor rounds, the team will look to secure a victory and progress to face the Goodwood Saints next weekend.

In the one encounter between the sides back in Round 5, the Woods made a fast start booting three goals to one in the first quarter to  eventually secure an 11 point victory when the final siren sounded. Blackwood had four goal kickers with Mitch Daniell, Max Matthews and Maxwell Ray booting two goals each while Dane Walls, Tyson von Boltenstern, Lachlan Antic, Mitchell Daniell, Caleb Bravington were named as the best players.
