The Blackwood Football Club has been recognised at the SANFL Womens Under 14s and Under 16s medal count earlier this week with several players polling well in the individual medal counts and also making the team of the year.
In the Under 14s who have made the Grand Final this Friday evening against Glenunga, Blackwood had 12 players poll a total of 48 votes, the most of any club in the competition. Zoe finished runner up polling 14 votes with two best on ground performances in rounds 2 and 6 whilst Scarlett finished tied for 3rd place with 12 votes including two best on grounds in rounds 9 and 10. Both players were also awarded with places in the team of the year.
In the Under 16s, Blackwood had a eight players poll a total of 28 votes. Brie was the highest vote getting for the Woods finishing with eight votes including a best on ground performance in round 11 against Mt Barker. She was also rewarded with a team of the year selection.
