The B Grade season remains alive after an epic five point victory over Mt Barker in Sunday’s Elimination Final at Nairne Oval. Playing each other for the second time in as many weeks, the Woods got off to a flyer kicking two goals to none in the first term. Going with the a strong breeze, Bailey Badcoe had an immediate impact kicking the opening two goals of the match. In the second term, the Woods fought hard against the breeze managing to score one major through Luke Hocking to be within touching distance at the main break.

In the so called ‘premiership quarter’ the Woods pressed hard kicking two goals to none like the first quarter. Adam Greaves kicked major from the top of the goal square through a quick play for the Woods whilst Henry Spurr kick a long range torpedo punt which sailed through the middle, much to the delight of the travelling supporters. Leading by eleven points at the final break, the Woods defended for their lives in the last quarter conceding only one goal to hold on for a thrilling five point victory at the final siren.
