The Blackwood Football Club recorded ten wins from 15 competition matches across last weekend’s Hills Football League and SANFL Juniors matches. Check out the full results below brought to you by Banner Mitre 10 Blackwood

A Grade

Travelling for the first time in 2020 the Woods made two changes with Evan Johnson and Mark Reynolds coming into the selected squad. Kicking into a very strong breeze in the first term, Evan Johnson managed to score the first goal of the match. Winning the ball from the midfield, Lobethal was able to take control for the remainder of the term kicking the next four goals to take a 21-point lead into the first break.

With the aid of the breeze the Woods were able to get back into the match having greater control of the ball in the second term. Despite pushing forward on multiple occasions, the Lobethal defence held strong until the later half of the term when Ryan Dijksman and Ben Macreadie were able to score goals.

Trailing by 14 points at the main break, the Woods came out fighting hard at the start of the third term. Under a weight of multiple forward 50 entries, the Tigers were able to score seven majors compared to only two behinds for the Woods as the game was blown open. Fighting hard in the last quarter the Woods won the term kicking three goals to one, but it wasn’t enough to pull the margin back as Lobethal ran out winners by 44 points.

Nathan Dunn was awarded as best player for the side for his efforts down back whilst Scott Bricknell, Matt Waldron, James Catford and Jan Warbout were also rewarded for their effort.
