The Blackwood Football Club would like to congratulate Leonie Wilmshurst on being awarded the 2020 SANFL Statewide Super Volunteer of the Year – the David Shipway AM Medal.
Presented the awarded last evening at the Crows v Giants match at Adelaide Oval, Wilmshurst said it was an honour to win the award, “I am pretty shocked to be the winner of the award, it’s something I really didn’t expect at all.”
“I enjoy volunteering around the club, it’s such a great place to be. There are so many great people involved. It’s such welcoming place for players and families and I want to keep making it a place where people can come, make friendships and play football with their mates from the juniors right through the Seniors.”
“I must also make a special mention to the Willis family for taking the time to write the application. I am very honoured.”
