Welcome to Season 2021 at the Blackwood Football Club!

Following a year of many challenges in 2020 we can only hope the football season ahead provides more certainty and opportunity for our players, coaches and support volunteers to participate in the greatest game we all love, Australian Rules Football.

As a community football club, we must provide development opportunities to all who contribute voluntarily to our great club. Delivery of football education, inclusion, development and care in a safe and harmonious environment will provide a platform for all involved to flourish and improve. Season 2021 will focus on greater support for our junior players to improve on the fundamental skills of the game – kicking, hand balling & marking. Our coaches also require support and feedback to grow and improve. This can be achieved by delivering well thought/ planned practice sessions along with being open to variation but most importantly challenging players to continue to work on the elements of the game where improvement is most necessary.

Respect and appreciation for those who spend many hours in preparation and delivery of football related service should not be understated. Passion for the game along with the ability to positively impact individuals and contribute within and around the club is vital. Support and understanding are key components for any organisation.

Development, Improvement, Patience and Fun are words referred to when participating in any game. Inclusion within a team/ club environment can be incredibly rewarding when people work together to achieve a desired outcome. Our ability to improve collectively will ensure our club continues to grow stronger allowing us all to learn and grow.
