Patrick Hillard has been named to make his A Grade debut for the Blackwood Football Club in Round 2 of the Police Credit Union Hills Football League. Coming to the Woods in the pre-season to play with mates, 20 year-old Hillard brings electric pace and silky skills to the line-up. He comes into the side in form having been awarded best on ground in the B Grade’s narrow to Hahndorf in Round 1.

Coach Scott Prebble said he was excited to see what Hillard can bring to the match. “Patrick is a talented young man. He adds some serious speed and kicking skills to the squad. I am looking forward to seeing him out their on Saturday afternoon.” The Woods also welcome Daniel Bennetts and River Moore into the selected squad for the match. For Bennetts it will be his 100th A Grade match in the red and green.

In the B Grade, Daniel Lowe has made five changes with Lachlan Bahnisch, Tyson Clark, Luke Hocking, Jacob McCarthy and Sam Tonkin coming into the selected squad. The C Grade has named a strong squad of 24 players with Nick Lipari, Adrian Ractliffe, Jack Tagni, Luke Warburton and Steve Woods being selected for the first time this season with Lipari, Tagni and Warburton also playing their first senior matches for the Woods.

Jacob Broad has currently named a squad of 17 players for the Senior Colts clash with Nathan Houston returning from Sturt and Bailey Black playing his first game since Round 8 2019 after an ACL injury.
