Blackwood has made six changes to its team to face the Onkaparinga Valley Bulldogs tomorrow afternoon in Round 6 of the Police Credit Union Hills Football League at Balhannah Oval.

After a hard-fought 46-point win over Uraidla Districts last week, coach Scott Prebble and his coaching group have named James Hopton, Jacob McCarthy, Liam McCarthy, Moe Milsom, Mark Reynolds and Josh Tainton to come into the side

“We are looking forward to hitting the field this weekend against the Bulldogs. We have had a great opening five rounds to the season but aren’t looking to rest on those performances. We have worked hard during the week and are looking to play a consistent four quarters of team football.”

The Woods will be looking to secure their fifth victory on the trot, a record only achieved five times in the minor rounds since 2006 (2008: Rounds 6 to 11, 2009: Round 2 to 6, 2009: Round 8 to 12, 2010: Round 5 to 10 and 2017: Round 1 to 6).

In the B Grade, Daniel Lowe has made seven changes to the side with Josh Bergin, Nik Gacic, Haydn Kenny, Ryan McMurtrie, Mat Tee, Zac Venning and Nick Work coming into the selected squad. For Venning (son of club life member Damien Venning), it will be his first senior game for the Woods having stepped up into the Men’s program in 2021.

The C Grade has named a squad of 23 players to face the Westminster Dragons at Glandore Oval on Saturday morning. The side will be looking to secure their third victory of the season having defeated Christian Brothers College last weekend. A victory over the Dragons will keep the Woods in touch with the fifth spot which is currently two points and 1.7 percent ahead.
