The Blackwood Football Club has named its squad for this Sunday’s cut-throat Elimination Final.
Travelling up the expressway to the beautiful Callington Oval, the Woods face off against the Uraidla Districts Demons with the winner keeping their season alive while the loser calls curtains on 2022. In a repeat of last weekends fixture, the Woods will be looking to secure a victory over the Demons for the first time in 2022 having suffered a 17 and 35 point losses in the fixtures in Round 9 and 18.
In selection news, the Woods have named Caleb Dearman and Kai Tucker to return for the match having both played in the B Grade last weekend.
Speaking at selection on Thursday evening coach Scott Prebble said it was a key match on Sunday afternoon. “We are looking forward to travelling to Callington Oval, a venue where we haven’t lost at. We have trained well during the week and are confident of coming away with a victory.”
For the Senior Colts, Daryl Sowerby has named an extended squad for Saturday mornings Qualifying Final against Mt Lofty with Jack Eames, Matt Hall, Max Jones, Luke Lewis, Ollie Salangsang, Oscar Whitehouse and Dylan Willis to named in the squad having not played last weekend.
n the two matches between the sides in 2022, the Woods have secured two victory with a 32 point margin in Round 2 and a 33 point margin in Round 11 with the Woods having won a total of 24 out of 29 matches between the sides in the Senior Colts competition dating back to the start of the 2010 season.
