Blackwood has made one change to its squad to face Nairne Bremer United on Saturday afternoon in Umpires Appreciation Round during Round 6 of the Police Credit Union Hills Football League.

In only the second road trip of the season, the Woods will be looking to secure victory number five of the season. A win in the match will see the Woods win five matches on the trot for the first time since 2011 from Round16 to the Second Semi Final.

In a big selection, Jack Lewis has been named to return for the Woods having been recruited at the start of the season. In the recent weeks, Lewis has been playing a top-up player for the Adelaide Crows in the SANFL. During these games, Lewis has made the most of his opportunities up forward, kicking eight goals, averaging eight disposals at 84% efficiency.

Speaking at selection on Thursday evening Scott Prebble stated the side was looking forward to this weekend.

“Nairne have been a much improved side this year under the guidance of Morgan (who we actually had at the Woods last year working on some tackling technique)”

“We have had a strong week on the track and are looking forward to making the trip to Nairne. We hope see a large group of travelling Woods supporters up at Nairne and look forward to representing the red and green for them.”

In the B Grade, Daniel Lowe has made a season low three changes to the line up with Jonathan Grimes, Luke Hocking and Jackson Hughes being named in the squad. For Lowe and his B Grade side, they will also be looking to secure their fifth victory on the trot against the seventh placed Rams side and further entrench a top three position on the ladder.

In the C Grade, Adam Pope has named a strong squad with Charlie Aitken, Luke Evans, Luke King, Daniel Lowe, Connor McCarl, James Wallace and Luke Warburton being named in the line up from last weekend. The C Grade is currently sitting top of the ladder undefeated with a percentage of 507.69 coming up against the Rams at 5.00pm after the A Grade. It will be the first time the Woods face the Rams in over 13 seasons in the C Grade competition.
