The Blackwood Football Club Under 17.5 girls are off to the Grand Final 
Facing off against Golden Grove in the Preliminary Final at St Marys Park, the girls controlled the game from the outset kicking three goals in the opening quarter. In a game of ebbs and flows, Golden Grove bounced back in the second quarter holding the Woods goalless whilst kicking two goals themselves to pull the margin back to three points at the main break.
After some inspiring words from coach Simon Manser, the girls came out full of run and energy completing controlling the second half where they kicked 5 goals 6 behinds to one solitary goal to eventually win by 33 points.
Libby Willetts was the star up front kicking three goals while Isabella Calvanese, Bella Drew, Charlize Hough, Piper Khouri and Sienna Manser kicked single goals for the Woods. The team celebrated the win in style honouring the dads of the side putting them in the middle of the circle as they sung the Woods song.
Next weekend, the Woods travel to Thebarton Oval on Sunday afternoon to face the Henley Sharks for the 2022 Premiership.
