The Blackwood Football Club has made four changes to the squad for its Round 13 this Saturday afternoon.

Hosting the Bridgewater-Callington Raiders at KX Pilates Blackwood Oval, the Woods will be looking to re-join the winners list and push their way back into the top five on the ladder.

In a big selection, Patrick Hillard pulls on the red and green for the first time in 2022 having been playing his trade at Central Districts so far this season where he has played 11 matches averaging 14.5 disposals per match at 97 percent efficiency.

The Woods have also named Callum Finlayson to make this A Grade debut, the 15th player to do so in 2022. Finlayson who is currently eligible for Senior Colts football steps earns his place having played his trade in the B Grade playing eight matches where he has kicked four goals. He also featured in the better players in the 2021 Senior Colts premiership side and was the 2021 Junior Colts HFL Mail Medallist.

Also returning to the squad to boost the team’s fleet-footed brigade are youngster Jaxin Faehrmann and experienced winger Mark Reynolds.

Speaking at selection on Thursday evening coach Scott Prebble stated it was a big week for the team. “We are looking to bounce back in a strong way after a few tough weeks. We have had a good week on the track and are looking forward to putting in a good performance against the Raiders on Saturday afternoon.”

For the B Grade, Daniel Lowe has made a season low three changes to the squad for the clash against the Raiders. Across the opening 12 matches, the side has been forced to use a total of 54 players with an average of 6.54 changes to the squad across these games. For Round 13, Lowe welcomes back Nik Gacic and Denam Moore to the side which will be looking to secure its seventh victory of the season. In the previous Round 4 matches, the Woods secured a 36 point victory with Luke Lewis booting three matches to be named best on ground.

The match will also be a highlight for Brady Dewhurst who clocks up with 100th appearance in the red and green having made his debut back in 2013, the 26 year old has played 56 B Grade and 43 C Grade games since his debut and is a two time premiership playing being a part of the successful 2015 & 2017 C Grade premierships

In the C Grade, they have named a full squad of 22 players for the clash against Nairne Bremer at KX Pilates Blackwood Oval on Saturday night. The squad welcomes Alex Fuller and Adam Graves for the match against the second placed Rams. In Round 5, the Woods suffered their only loss of the season (to date) going down by 65 points at Nairne Oval. In that game Sam Tonkin booted two majors while Josh Bergin was named best player.

In the Senior Colts, the side return to the field after having the bye last weekend. Facing the seventh placed IronRaiders the Woods welcome back <name> to the squad and will be looking to further strengthen their grip on top spot on the ladder where they are currently two points of Mt Barker and Mt Lofty.
