The Blackwood Football Club has named an extended squad for Sunday’s Grand Final match in the Hills Football League Women’s competition.
Facing the Uraidla Districts Demons at Mt Barker Oval, the Woods will be looking to secure its second HFLW premiership in the Open competition having previously won it back in 2020.
Coach Damien Venning have currently named an extended squad at this stage to be finalised before the bounce. Highlighted in the squad is the return of co-captains Taylah Jayne who missed the semi-final through illness and Kelly Whitehead who have been playing American Football over in Finland for Australia in the past few weeks.
Speaking at selections on Thursday evening, coach Damien Venning said the side was looking forward to this weekend. “We are looking forward to travelling to Mt Barker home ground on Sunday and coming away with a victory. We are hoping to see a large crowd of red and green supporters to help cheer us onwards to victory.”
The weekend also sees our Under 15s and Under 17.5s SANFL Junior Teams play in Qualifying Finals on Sunday.
