The Blackwood Football Club has recalled Bailey Badcoe, Deqhlan Files and River Moore for Round 16 of the Mortgage Choice Hills Football League against the Echunga Football Club. Speaking at selections on Thursday evening coach Damien Salievic said it was an important match for the side. “They got us in the first match and it was a scrappy game in Round 9. It is important we turn up to play our best football from the first minute.”

The Woods have recalled Badcoe and Moore from the twos whilst Files step from the senior colts to play his second A Grade match. On the two occasions the Woods have played the Demons in 2018, Echunga have won once in Round 2 whilst the sides played in a low scoring draw at U-Install-It Kitchens Oval in Round 9. In these matches the Demons have got the jump on the Woods kicking four early goals in both matches.

Since 2006, Round 16 ranks as the second worst minor round for winning percentage. In the eleven matches the Woods have a winning percentage of 36.4%. Remarkably the last win the Woods recorded in Round 16 came way back in 2011 when the Woods defeated Uraidla Districts by 41 points at U-Install-It Kitchens Oval.

In the twos, the side sees five changes to their line up from last weekends successful encounter against Mt Lofty with Zac Gawen, Lucas Herbert, Matt McNaught, Rhys Smelt and Ryan Williams all returning. A win will seen the keep in touching distance of third spot.
