The Blackwood Football Club Trainers Box will be fitted out with a fully automatic defibrillator (AED) courtesy of the Blackwood Lions Club.

Blackwood Lions Club President Anthea Stretton and Vice President Lew Corso presented the defibrillator to Blackwood Football Club President Kris Winchester last Thursday evening.

Users of the oval on game days or training evenings will now have access to a defibrillator in the case of any sudden cardiac arrest. The defibrillator can be used on any victim of sudden cardiac arrest, and along with CPR, the chances of surviving a sudden cardiac arrest goes up dramatically when it is used with a patient.

The Football Club would like to acknowledge the tireless work of the Blackwood Lions Club and the support they have provided the Blackwood and surrounding community since 1965. The Lions Club bargain centre is located on Colebrook drive off Shepherds Hill Road in Eden Hills and is open from 8:30am to 12:30pm on Saturdays.
