The Blackwood Football Club has a need for speed! The Woods have made two changes to the selected squad for Round 3 of the Hills Football League welcoming back Evan Johnson and Mark Reynolds. Johnson returns to the line up having missed last weekend against Hahndorf whilst Reynolds comes into the side having played the opening two matches in the B Grade.
The extra speed across the ground will help to cover the wide expanses of Lobethal Oval which is approximately 19,239 square metres, the largest oval in the Division One competition.
Coach Ryan Anderson said the squad was looking forward to bouncing back this weekend. “We’ve had a solid week on the track after last weekend’s disappointment. The boys are keen for the challenge against the Tigers.”
In the B Grade, Daniel Lowe has made five changes with Jaxin Faehrmann, Lachlan Furness, Nik Gacic, Denam Moore and Zac Zevenboom coming into the line up. For Faehrmann and Gacic it will be their first senior game in the red and green having made the step up from the Senior Colts side.
For the Senior Colts, they have four changes to the side to face the combined Gumeracha/Lobethal side with Will Torode, Luke Warburton, Angus Winter and Patrick Winter coming into the squad.
