The Blackwood Football Club is delighted to announce the addition of Sam Davis for the 2023 season.

The 23-year-old stands at 193cm and 92kg and is known for his flexibility to play in all positions across the ground.

Davis joins the Woods having played at the Bute Football Club is Season 2022 where he played 16 matches booting 23 majors (including eight matches kicking two or more goals), being named in the best players on 14 occasions (88 percent) and making the YPFL Team of the Year.

Before playing for Bute, Davis played for both the Glenelg and North Adelaide Football Clubs making his SANFL League debut for the Roosters in Round 1 2021 against Central District while also 67 reserves matches kicking 35 goals. He was also apart of the 2016 Glenelg Under 18s SANFL Premiership and a member of the SANFL Under Age state program.

Davis said he was excited about the new opportunity and looks forward to meeting everyone along the way.

“I am rapt to be joining the Woods and can’t wait to run out in the Red and Green next year,” he said.

Blackwood Senior Coach Kieran Sporn, said the addition of Davis was an exciting one ahead of the 2023 season.

“Sam is a quality player and person, so we are really happy to have him joining our Club,” Sporn said.

“At only such a young age, Sam has a lot of very good football ahead of him, and we are delighted that he will do that in Red and Green.”
