The Blackwood Football Club has named an extended squad for Sunday’s Qualifying Final match in the Hills Football League Women’s competition.
Facing the Mt Lofty Devils at Heathfield Oval, the Woods will be looking to secure a victory and progress to face the Onkaparinga Valley Bulldogs for a chance to play in the Grand Final.
In the two encounters between the sides in 2022, the Woods have succumbed on both occasions by 47 points in Round 2 and 17 points in Round 11. Both sides match up relatively even across the minor rounds with the Woods being the equal fourth ranked attack averaging 41.5 PPG compared to the Devils who average 52.8 PPG while in defence Blackwood has conceded on average 20.7 PPG compared to the Devils 14.5 PPG.
Speaking at selections on Thursday evening, defender Claire Collins said the side was looking forward to this weekend. “We are looking forward to travelling to Mt Lofty’s home ground on Sunday and coming away with a victory. We are hoping to see a large crowd of red and green supporters to help cheer us onwards to victory.”
