BLACKWOOD FOOTBALL CLUB

OPEN WOMEN’S PROGRAM

2023 SEASON LAUNCH

Calling all current, new and prospective female football players.

The BFC will be hosting a season launch for the Open Women’s program.

LOCATION: BFC Front Bar

DATE: Thursday 9 February 2023

TIME: 7:00pm to 8:30pm

Please come along and join all your teammates for pizza. The bar will be open serving frosty cold drinks.

On the night you will hear from BFC President, David Richardson, about all the exciting things happening at the club throughout the 2023 Season. Damien Venning, Female Football Co-ordinator, will provide an overview of the women’s program, and likely competition/leagues our teams will compete in during 2023 season. Your coaches, Corey Drew and Simon Manser, will provide an overview of training structures, times and days (both preseason and in season), outline expectations on all of us (players, coaches, club and support staff), provide feedback on the sessions to date and discuss our goals for the 2023 season.

There will be plenty of time and opportunity for you to ask questions of all of us.

BFC has developed a very successful women’s program over a number of years, and we need your support as players to take this program to the next level. The club has taken on board feedback that you want to play football on a more regular basis, rather than rotating each week. As a result the BFC is looking at a 2 team structure. This can only be successful if we get the player pool to a level where we can field 2 teams every week without players having to double up and play multiple games on a weekend. It also means all players can play football at an appropriate level for their development, allowing them to maximise their enjoyment from the game.

Please make a really strong effort to attend on Thursday, bring along your friends and any new girls that would like to give football a try at BFC. We understand some of our SANFL girls may have training on that night, however, if they can please try to drop in for a drink with your BFC teammates on the way home.

Don’t forget training next week will continue on Monday and Wednesday.

Looking forward to seeing everyone next week

Ricko, DV, Corey and Simon
